- Can anyone tell me what a silent modem is and the difference between
- that and one which presumably isn't silent? The problem I have is that
- when using a Andest Manager 7700 Fax/Modem switching unit, when a modem
- calls the unit does not switch the call to the modem but to the fax. It
- will switch to the modem manually or if ,,#233 is added to the calling
- number. I have been told this is because the calling modem is a silent
- one. Does anyone know if this is correct and explain what is happening?
